When done properly toughening has no adverse effects and enables Masters to hit wood or concrete repeatedly with full force and no damage to the hands, feet, or body. The brutal vital point attacks taught in our Combat Martial Arts are not like desperate self defense moves taught to women and children. Highly trained Masters at Imperial Combat Arts demonstrate the true power of Kung Fu, with their decades of extensive training experience. Routine demonstrations are done in a variety of ways such as tearing the eyes and throats from pig cadavers in a second, striking with single digits through boards and rib cages, full force knuckle strikes against wood and brick, and kicking through bats and concrete. This level of toughening is far from wrapping the wrists and wearing gloves for competitive sport, these are true weapons forged for life-and-death combat.
Some of Imperial Combat Arts current Masters have 20-50 years of constant toughening with no adverse affects and work in jobs that require high level hand ability such as surgery. In our known history we have never had a Grandmaster with arthritis or any problems with the hands, in contrast our Masters still perform incredible feats in their senior years. This is the true power and extent of healing involved in these rare and highly guarded toughening systems.

TOUGHENING LINIMENTS
The toughening liniments made at Imperial Combat Arts are highly guarded. Our ingredients, recipes, and crafting techniques are known only to our Master ranks. Imperial Combat Arts liniments are much more advanced than simple toughening liniments used in most schools. Each gallon of our liniments can cost hundreds of dollars and take 8 months to craft. They require a very high understanding of herbology.
|
Liniments are used to heal, strengthen, and protect the body during the grueling long term process of toughening. Without these powerful liniments it would take at least half a decade longer to reach Master level hand weapons.
GENERAL TOUGHENING
From day one all students begin toughening and conditioning for combat, with break-falls, bare knuckled strikes, kicking, and joint work done within a very safe albeit painful curriculum. This toughening begins the slow process of bone toughening, where after a few ranks students have the ability to break legs with their kicks and strike skulls with their hands without injury. From there students become eligible to begin advanced toughening in preparation for the Eight Animal Styles.
LEG TOUGHENING
|
Leg toughening begins day one at Imperial Combat Arts as students train to develop kicks with their shins and feet. There are several toughened kicks practiced in our arts that are designed to destroy opponents legs and effectively attack the groin. This master level leg toughening is tested throughout the ranks by breaking bats, staves, and 2x4's with the shins and blade edges of the feet, as well as kicks with the feet through concrete slabs.

BREAK-FALLS
|
Break-falls are used to safely hit the ground when falling or being thrown, and combine with all types of rolls to handle any combat situation. Imperial Combat Arts teaches numerous break-falls for front, side, and rear falling and at all angles. Extensive break-fall sessions safely strengthen the body, bones, organs, neck, and brain for combat without the brain damage and injury caused by competitive sports. This is an important first step in animal level body conditioning.

MASTER LEVEL TOUGHENING
|
Just to begin training the Eight Animals at Imperial Combat Arts requires a level of toughening. The equipment the Animal Styles use to workout on requires toughening to begin to use.
To train sets with an Imperial Animal Master requires arm toughening, most people would bow out after the first crossing of arms. When our Animal Masters train their arm vs. arm toughening is powerful enough to break a mans arm. |
If students are accepted into the Animal Toughening their journey toward forging Master level weapons begins. They start with one full year and the use of liniments to complete levels I, II, and III of Animal Toughening. After that first year our students demonstrate a higher level of toughening than the highest ranks of most martial arts. It is at this point our students are eligible to move from Imperial Wu Tang into the Imperial Eight Animal Classes and enter the highest levels of toughening. Animal Hand Weapons have to be forged exactly right, and the whole process undergoes constant scrutiny and examination from our Expert Masters. These proven Instructors have successfully taught many students, worked with all shapes and sizes of hands, and are trained in all possible injuries, risks, and complications that may occur.
“I takes a minimum of 12 years to reach the highest levels of bone toughening and body conditioning as the skeleton has completely replaced itself under the constant harassments of toughening. The average term of U.S. military service is less than 5 years, and most sports fighters retire by 8 years.”

HISTORY OF TOUGHENING
Toughening the body for combat is an ancient part of training and done in most martial arts to some extent. A lot of systems use more naturally toughened parts of the body just like basic military training today, or a basic training system like Krav Maga. The palms of the hands, elbows, knees, blade edges and hammer-fists can naturally take more damage. This is suitable for preparing large groups of general people for quick battle and Imperial Combat Arts students begin their first rank with same idea. Most martial arts breaking demonstrations are done only with these parts of the body. Toughening the fingertips, bare knuckles, and having the ability to perform feats like holding your entire body weight on the tip of two fingers, kick through concrete and baseball bats and other feats demonstrated by our Masters is much more advanced.
Bone and joint toughening takes years of careful development and sheer dedication to Master at its highest level, there is no rushing it. Hand Toughening a huge part of all the arts taught at Imperial Combat Arts and absolutely crucial for real combat. Many bare knuckle boxers could only fight a few times a year because of damage to the hands. Gloves were made to protect the hands of the boxer not the opponents face like many assume. Many of these fighters ended their careers crippled.
This is why the arts toughen, and not just to hit skulls, but also to withstand the impact of weapons and other hard surfaces in melee combat. It is very common for sport fighters to break their hands and fingers once the gloves come off, like Tyson. While it may not cost them the fight and they go heal, in combat you may still need to draw and operate a firearm or weapon, or fight again soon, and toughening gives you this power. If you're training with wrapped wrists and gloves, you are not training Combat Martial Arts.
THE IMPERIAL EIGHT ANIMAL STYLES
These highly lethal and legendary fighting styles are for a true elite class of martial artist, and require years of toughening and training to master. The Imperial animals should not be mistaken for common mainstream kung fu styles. Our past Grandmasters combined have held master ranks in dozens of martial arts, yet they always list the Imperial Animal Systems first in their biography's as their most powerful. LEOPARD TOUGHENING
|
The Leopard Kung Fu Hand Weapons are legendary and kill with one strike to the throat. Leopard masters at Imperial Combat Arts demonstrate the ability to strike solid wood with bare knuckles, breaking 3 inches of pine, three times in one second, with the same hand, in a very fast flurry. This level of toughening is far from wrapping the hands and wearing boxing gloves for sport, these are true weapons designed for life-and-death combat. Enter Page> Leopard Kung Fu
