COMBAT GRAPPLING & CHIN NA
Combat Chin Na or Qinna is a non-sport, life & death study of Joint Locks, Joint Breaking, Grappling, Chokes, and Strangles etc. that are used with strikes, and weapons, and with intense focus on fighting multiple opponents both standing and on the ground. Chin Na training at Imperial Combat Arts school in Denver CO is the study of several Mixed Martial Arts from direct military history.

|
These fighting styles have never been adapted for competitive sport. Chin means literally "to seize or trap" and Na means "to lock or hold. Imperial Combat Arts student classes are 3-4 hours in length, one third of which is dedicated strictly to Ground fighting and Chin Na, the rest is hand-to-hand combat and weapons. Students train extensive ground conditioning, break-falls, grappling, and combat Chin Na with initial focus on destroying common grappling styles such as Jujitsu (which was the first art of mastery of some of our Masters), and training for life-or-death combat.
WEAPON CHIN NA
Weapon Chin Na is the traditional use of weapons with joint locks, and strikes, as a part of complete combat training. This in depth study focuses on all types of weapons as well as rope, jacket, and small pressure point objects like a pressure point restraining tool. The small Iron Rod is one of the first weapons trained at Imperial Combat Arts and is very effective for both devastating strikes and very painful Chin Na.

CHIN NA TOUGHENING
The brutal vital point attacks taught in our Combat Chin Na Systems are not like the desperate self defense moves taught to women and children. Highly trained Masters at Imperial Combat Arts with decades of toughening and training demonstrate the power of these arts in ways such as tearing the eyes and throats from pig cadavers in just one second, striking with single digits through rib cages. STANDING CHIN NA
Performing standing Chin Na at full speed takes a high level of skill and is a huge part of fighting multiple opponents using overlapping, pushing, and dragging with joint locks and controls. This is a big traditional part of Chinese Chin Na and much different than 1 on 1 sport. Going to the ground and grappling with multiple or armed opponents is most often a deadly mistake and keeping on your feet takes true mastery.

CHIN NA & GRAPPLING EXERCISES
Strengthening the joints and body for Grappling, Chin Na, and combat begins day one with grueling fast paced endurance exercise in the entry level Black Scorpion Ground-fighting. There are numerous ground-fighting postures and grappling positions trained in Black Scorpion. As students progress into the higher level of toughening, conditioning, striking, chin na, & weapons the Black Scorpion evolves into its true lethal art.
COMBAT THROWS
Combat throws, bring-downs, and take-downs are techniques designed to injure opponents upon impact with the ground, objects, or other people, and can be used to break the joints. Combat throws integrate, strikes and weapons and work seamlessly with all other aspects of combat. Students train all types of effective combat throws and later in the Eight Animal Styles they Master high level throws that require great skill.

JOINT LOCKS
Combat Chin Na masters 100's of brutal joint locking and breaking techniques both standing and on the ground. This study includes small joint manipulation and other types of locks too dangerous and illegal for sport. While many of these joint locks can be used for pain controls to submit a single opponent, the focus of Combat Chin Na is to destroy the joint or use the pain to gain access to vital points, as is necessary in combat.
GRAPPLING - WRESTLING
Grappling/Wrestling is one of the most ancient aspects of martial arts and a significant area of study. Combat grappling is far more aggressive than sport grappling as it contains, striking, weapons, ripping & gouging, chokes/strangles, and trains to destroy the joints with little training into "tap-out" style submissions, this opens up entire arts of far more dangerous techniques.
|
CHOKES & STRANGLES
There are 100's of chokes and strangles in the martial arts taught at Imperial Combat Arts, these chokes are done with weapons, the arms, legs, clothing, and toughened grips and strikes that can crush the throat. Combat chokes and strangles can be used not only to negate a single opponent but also as brief pain controls and techniques used to manipulate multiple opponents during fast paced standing combat. These techniques are for combat and could not be used in sport.

GROUND-FIGHTING
地术拳
When fighting multiple and armed opponents becoming entangled in grappling is a most often a deadly mistake. In combat mobility and maneuverability is key to survival, and 80% of fights end on the ground. This art masters ground fighting, escaping & preventing grappling, and using brutal strikes, kicks, reaps, sweeps, weapons, and dynamic maneuvers to be a power fighter on the ground.

BREAK-FALLS
Break-falls are used to safely hit the ground when falling or being thrown, and combine with all types of rolls to handle any combat situation. Imperial Combat Arts teaches numerous break-falls for front, side, and rear falling and at all angles. Extensive break-fall sessions safely strengthen the body, bones, organs, neck, and brain for combat without the brain damage and injury caused by competitive sports. This is an important first step in animal level body conditioning.
