IMPROVISED WEAPONS
自製武器

Improvised Weapon training is an advanced weapon study taught at Imperial Combat Arts in Denver CO. Many of the traditional weapons taught at the school can be quickly improvised out of everyday objects or made from nature. This study allows those who have trained all types of traditional weapons to apply their skills in any world environment. Far from outdated most real fights today still involve the use of weapons and fully immersive weapon training is as important today as it ever has been throughout history.
Weapon themselves are just part of combat training. To fully master battle the whole body must be trained to fight, to strike, maneuver, and engage in Chin Na or grappling. Imperial Combat Arts weapon study blends seamlessly with our hand to hand, ground systems, and chin na, as a complete martial study.

IRON FINGER
鐵指

The Iron Finger is a small metal rod that teaches all manner of pressure-point attacks blended with Chin Na. This traditional weapon can break bone from just inches and even when lightly practiced can cause opponents to lose consciousness. This training shows students how to use any similar objects as brutal and effective improvised weapons. These objects include pens, spoons, gun magazines, keys, sticks, etc.

IRON RING
鐵環

Iron Rings are classic Chinese weapons that are often worn on the forearms. When held in the hands these rings are used for punching, pressure attacks, and can be swung like a flail surprisingly breaking bones. The study of these weapons teaches student how to use other similar and common objects as improvised weapons. These objects would include things such as carabiners, the rim of a cup, and drink coasters.

IMPROVISED SPEAR

A basic spear can be a quickly improvised weapon in modern combat, as simple as a broken broom handle or a spear made from nature. Even these makeshift spears can offer a huge advantage in melee combat as they offer a reach superior to most common melee weapons such as knives, crowbars, tasers, etc. Additionally items such as broomsticks, knives, tape and cord can quickly make a devastating urban spear.

IMPROVISED STAFF

One great benefit of Staff Training is that basic Staff can be a quickly improvised weapon in modern combat, as simple as a broom handle. Even these makeshift staves can offer a huge advantage in melee combat as they offer a reach superior. In addition Staves can be made from nature allowing a Staff practitioner to quickly fashion their weapon of mastery in almost any world setting.

IMPROVISED CLUB

Clubs and Sticks can be easily found and made, both in nature and from common objects. With a little training a practitioner will start to see these weapons everywhere. This ensures that no matter where you are in the world you can quickly arm yourself with something you've trained extensively. By training to use your club vs all types of weapons you can arm and prepare for all kinds of combat scenarios.

IMPROVISED FLAILS

A basic Flail can be a quickly improvised weapon in modern combat, as simple as a Rock in a Sock, a can in a bag, or even a heavy ratchet strap. Even these makeshift Flails can offer a huge advantage in melee combat as they offer a reach superior to common melee weapons such as knives. With these, and Flails made from nature, an flail weapon can quickly be fashioned and used as trained.

ROPE
绳武器

Imperial Combat Arts teaches a large and intricate rope-fighting system that at the highest levels enters the study of Spider Kung Fu. This guarded fighting style uses highly toughened strikes, chin na, gripping, and the use of deceptive slight-of-hand techniques to capture and entangle opponents. Spider specializes in blinding and weapon counters as well as knots, traps, and rope climbing.

JACKET
衫武器

The Jacket is an effective and common improvised weapon trained at Imperial Combat Arts that uses the same kinds of techniques trained in rope-fighting. The study of jacket applies to both grappling with the use of yours and an opponents worn clothes and also holding the a jacket in the hands as a rope weapon. The jacket can be effective at weapon counters and is trained to be quickly wrapped for padded armor.

ANTLERS & HORNS
觡武器

Horns and Antlers are some of the effective types of improvised weapons that can be harvested from the wild. Small sections of these are used at Imperial Combat Arts for thrusting, pressure point controls, and to assist in chin na. Large antlers are used as full length weapons. These animal parts along with bone, tendon, hide, and hooves are traditional materials used in ancient tools, armor, and weapons.

RANGED WEAPONS
自製射程武器

While many objects can be hand thrown to soften targets one can also use improvised slings, spear launchers, tubes, and ropes to greatly increase the power of basic ranged projectiles. With this added power a basic projectile can be used for hunting and stone can kill a man. Additionally there are several types of throwing clubs that are shaped to cause greater damage when thrown.

SHIELDS & ARMOR

Picture Primitive Shield
In addition to Improvised Weapons there is a study of Improvised Armor and Shields. These armaments can also be contrived from common materials or made from nature. In life and death weapon battles any armor can offer a huge tactical advantage and having an improvised shield between you and a blade can change the tide of the fight. These materials can be much stronger against melee weapons than most people may assume.

TOUGHENING

Without proper weapons, or improvised ones, a person is left to just their natural body to fight. With our extensive hand toughening and body conditioning systems our Arts train to weaponize, strengthen, and armor the body to the highest possible human levels. This includes toughening the knuckles, finger-tips, shins, forearms, feet, and overall body. This difficult training is huge part of all martial arts study taught at Imperial Combat Arts. Enter Page> Hand Toughening
