Imperial Python Kung Fu is a combat level martial art taught at Imperial Combat Arts school in Denver Colorado. Python style Kung Fu is a sub-style of Imperial Snake Kung Fu that masters powerful palm strikes, highly toughened fingers, devastating kicks, and a massive system of combat grappling, chokes, strangles, joint attacks, and throws.

Python Masters develop specialized modes of movement for use in combat such as; heavy relaxed weight, stickiness, reaching, dynamic extension, contraction, and powerful compression. These energies are used to capture and envelop opponents into Pythons deadly Chin Na and throwing system, and to develop the heavy powerful strikes and kicks of Python. In addition Python uses these complex body dynamics to negate and overcome common grappling. Several of our Masters taught Jujitsu before joining Imperial Combat Arts and training Python for combat, these Masters demonstrate the differences and the true power of Python Kung Fu.
TRAINING PYTHON KUNG FU
To master Imperial Python Kung Fu our practitioners develop the highest levels of hand toughening, leg toughening, and body conditioning. There are numerous challenging exercises, a long Python form, hundreds of sets for strikes, kicks, throws, and chin na, and of course matching. In addition Imperial Python Kung Fu trains all types of drills for combat, these drills make use of the usual martial arts mitts and bags, as well as traditional, and modern, custom made devices.
PYTHON TOUGHENING
Python Kung Fu masters at Imperial Combat Arts demonstrate the highest levels of hand toughening to meet the demands of true combat, far from wrapping the hands and wearing boxing gloves for sport. Unlike a technique, bone and joint toughening takes years to master, there is no rushing it, and if done improperly the hands can be permanently damaged. Python develops two specialty weapons that set it apart from most mainstream martial arts. Enter Page> Hand Toughening
PYTHON TAILThe Python tail is a relaxed and heavy full body palm and forearm strike that can kill with a single hit. These strikes hit as hard as the strongest kicks. It takes a few years to master this powerful strike, and without the toughening this level of force would dislocate the elbow or break the forearm.

PYTHON FANGSThe Python Fangs are used in very fast speed trained strikes, primarily to the eyes, using just one or two fingers. Masters demonstrate these weapons by striking through wood & melons, and test their strikes on animal cadavers. Additionally Python Masters hold their body weight on the tips of just two fingers.

PYTHON STRANGLES & CHOKES

Python Kung Fu contains 192 specialized chokes and strangles that are mastered in this style. These Pi Ch'i & Tien Mai Chin Na style chokes and strangles blend seamlessly with Pythons strikes, joint locks, throws, and weapons. Python chokes and strangles are performed using the hands, arms, and legs, as well as clothing and weapons. These techniques are trained for combat and very few would be able to be applied to sport.

PYTHON JOINT ATTACKS
Python Kung Fu masters 512 different joint attacks including locks with weapons, and vs multiple opponents. These Ts'o Ku style Chin Na attacks are applied against all joints both standing and on the ground. Python specializes against all joints including the small joints (fingers & wrists) that are illegal in most all competition and MMA. While Python may hold momentary pain controls with these locks (to open vital points or overlap opponents) most of their focus is on destroying the joint quickly, to move to the next opponent.
PYTHON EXERCISES
There a several levels of complex exercises required to develop the powerful and sticky way in which Python moves when it grapples and strikes. These exercises are done both standing and on the ground and some of them can be more difficult than the highest levels of Yoga just to hold, and while moving full speed. It takes a lot of deep internalization to learn to move and fight like a Python Master.
PYTHON FORMS
There is one large form trained in Imperial Python Kung Fu. This ancient forms holds a vast amount of knowledge about Python Kung Fu and every set included in these forms has and will work in combat vs. multiple opponents. Our forms are not like the flashy acrobatic forms you may see in popular modern form competitions. These forms are much more guarded, more practical, and train students in brutally effective Python techniques, that transfer directly to training sets, matching, and combat.
PYTHON SETS
Sets are an important part of training combat martial arts. These Python Kung Fu techniques are practiced over and over with training partners to develop the reflexes, muscle memory, and mastery of each technique for combat use. Imperial Python Kung Fu trains hundreds of these sets vs multiple opponents, including sets for strikes, kicks, counters attacks, Chin Na, grappling, throws, evasion, and weapons. Python extensively trains all their sets, grappling, and Chin Na blindfolded to develop intimate skill by touch alone.
PYTHON MATCHING
Animal Kung Fu mastery requires a lot of matching. Python Snake matching is done vs multiple opponents and often times, in the dark or blindfolded. There are no rings, gloves, or pads used in Python Matching. High level practitioners rely on their control, indomitable defenses, and body toughening to match each other without causing serious injury. Python practitioners match each other, as well as the other Animal Styles with special focus on testing their skills on the arts who specialize in anti-grappling.

PYTHON WEAPON MASTERY
Python as a power animal masters heavy large weapons, and soft weapons that can be applied to its entanglement, chokes, strangles, and grappling. The weapons of choice for Python Kung Fu directly complement its martial art making use of the same techniques and body development they've already mastered with the empty hand. Python Kung Fu has its own unique ancient weapons, and favored battlefield weapons for ranged combat, long weapons, and for close quarters combat.

Imperial Snake Kung Fu is one of eight main Animal Styles taught at Imperial Combat Arts. Each of the 8 Animal Styles is a complete martial art with its own master level toughening, ground fighting, grappling, Chin Na, hand to hand, kicks, throws, and weapon mastery. The 8 Animals each energetically represent one trigram of the Bagua.
Snake was chosen to represent Kūn 坤 in the Pakua (Bagua). Kun represents Earth, Mother, Yin, Receptive Energy, and Self Control. Kun consists of three Yin Lines making Snake Kung Fu the most Yin animal martial art taught in the Eight Animal System at Imperial Combat Arts. |
