SPECIAL FORCES WEAPONS
特种部队武器
Special Forces Weapon Training has been advertised and taught at our schools since the mid 1960's. These modern melee weapons are Combat Knife, Club/Baton, Firearms, and the Tomahawk. Imperial Combat Arts has a long military history that ranges from ancient warriors to modern military soldiers. This Special Forces Weapon Training was brought into our training systems by C. E. Smith an Airborne Ranger / Army Ranger Green Beret Officer as well as Grandmaster Long who taught the use of these weapons to U.S. servicemen during Vietnam.

Knives, Guns, and Clubs are also the most common weapons used today, and the most likely weapons one will face in battle. For this reason these weapons are prioritized as the first weapons of study in our student ranks.
COMBAT KNIFEThe use of daggers for melee combat dates back thousands of years, and modern Combat Knives of varied types are still issued to most soldiers today. Training Combat Knife begins day one at Imperial Combat Arts, starting with the same course our Grandmaster used to train U.S. servicemen. Knife training then progresses into advanced knife-fighting that blends with high level martial arts. These styles of fighting are much more advanced than basic military courses, and use some of the concepts and techniques of sword training.

TOMAHAWKTomahawks are a single handed axe from North America that were general-purpose tools used by Native Americans and later European colonials. This tool/weapon became issued to select U.S. troops during the Vietnam War and is still issued to U.S. soldiers today. Our late Grandmaster Long designed an effective 8hr course to teach Tomahawk fighting to elite U.S. troops in Vietnam. His knowledge came from our much larger system of Axe-fighting that requires around 140 hours to learn & develop.

"Most all of the men I trained in the use of the Vietnam Tomahawk, chose to carry it in place of a combat knife, as their melee weapon of choice"

CLUB/BATONThough Clubs and Batons generally fall more into a police and domestic category of weapons, they are also an important part Special Forces Weapon training. These weapons can be improvised in almost any situation from all types of materials. As special forces soldiers are often isolated with less support, this training in improvised weapons insures they will almost always be armed. This Club course comes from our much larger system of stick fighting that trains all types of blunt weapons and pole-arms for combat. Enter Page> Clubs & Sticks

This extensive study of modern combat tactics masters all types of civilian firearms including; Handguns, Tactical Shotguns, Sub-machine Guns, Assault Rifles, and Sniper Rifles .

MILITARY SHOVELFrom the ancient empires of the world to all modern military forces, the Shovel has been one of the most important tools of a soldier. Used primarily to build fortifications, the Shovel has long been favored for an Improvised Weapon. Modern military shovels have many uses and are essentially a Swiss army knife of tools. The head can be folded over to use as a short Combat Axe, half folded for a pick, and also usually include a serrated saw edge, and measuring ruler.

TRAINING SPECIAL FORCES WEAPONS
Melee weapons are as important today as they ever have been. Most any man with the intent to kill you will use a weapon, or improvise one. This training taught at Imperial Combat Arts was forged in a time where melee weapons were the primary focus of battle, and have proven to be just as effective in modern combat.
STEALTH/EVASION
The use of Special Forces Weapons is trained with stealth, camouflage, survival, and evasion to be most effective in special operations. These training courses teach the use of melee combat weapons in today's world of modern warfare. As we've seen even in modern combat situations, ammo can run out, and firearms can be impeded in close quarters combat with multiple opponents. Even today having strong martial arts and melee weapon training a must.
WEAPON DRILLS
Drills and exercises are one of the first steps in training both firearms and melee weapons. These drills teach the fundamentals of weapon handling for every specific type of weapon. These include drills for drawing, reloading, fixing malfunctions, maneuvers, stance, grip, target practice etc. Drills are a key part of learning a weapon, and developing the muscle memory and familiarity to use the weapon in the heat of battle. Even the basic drills taught for Pistol and Knife can give someone a huge advantage in today's world.
WEAPON SETS
Sets are an important part of training combat martial arts. Dynamic sets allow students to learn effective techniques and weapon applications that could never be used in sparring. Special Forces Weapon sets are done vs multiple opponents with realistic training weapons. These training weapons include airsoft guns, electric knives, as well as padded knives & hatchets. Sets are trained in the classroom as well as in real world terrains. Drills and sets are still the primary way soldiers are taught throughout the world today.

WEAPON TARGETS
Throughout history target practice has been a crucial part of weapon development, as it still is today. In all parts of the world Straw Men, and Wooden Pell's of various types, have been the primary targets used to practice attacks and maneuvers. Imperial Combat Arts indoor/outdoor school has a full array of traditional and modern training dummies designed specifically for weapon use. Additionally the school has a range used for all manner of ranged weapons.
WEAPON MATCHING
|
Aggressive matching with training weapons is an important part of preparing for the chaos and fray of battle. This matching is done with all the weapons taught at Imperial Combat Arts and often in unusual ways, such as blindfolded, or on beams and posts. Most all matching done at our school, whether armed or unarmed, is done versus multiple opponents. These intense matching sessions are designed to be painful, yet safe, and push practitioners ever forward in skill.
